Printed on high‑quality 40 × 50 cm Fabriano Rosaspina paper using Akua Intaglio Carbon Black ink. Each print is signed and numbered out of six.
Marianne North was printed as part of Ikon Gallery’s Start the Press exhibition in March 2024. The prints were produced on the historical antique etching press at the centre of the exhibition — a press once used to create giant nautical charts for the British Admiralty.
Each of the six prints is unique, with varying atmospheric tone and markings. Together they celebrate the legacy of Marianne North while conveying the story of their printing process and the remarkable press on which they were created.
