THE ARTIST

Ink is in my blood. I spent a lot of time as a kid in my family’s letterpress print shop in Cheltenham, which started trading in 1956. At 14, I officially joined the business and began learning the craft while also exploring my own artistic direction. Spending my teenage years surrounded by presses, paper, and type gave me a lasting connection to traditional print processes and handmade craft.

I completed a Diploma in Fine Art at the University of Gloucestershire before being awarded a First-Class BA (Hons) in Music Industries from Birmingham City University. After graduating, I spent several years working in events and festival production before returning to printmaking full-time. This path allowed me to combine my creative background with a practical, people-focused approach to teaching and workshop delivery.

Today, my practice centres around creating my own work and commissions, alongside teaching and sharing printmaking with others. I teach workshops at Stirchley Printworks and also run a mobile print studio equipped with portable presses and professional materials, allowing me to bring printmaking to community spaces, festivals, schools, and private events.

Alongside this, I regularly demonstrate traditional letterpress printing at Winterbourne Press. I’m an active member of the British Printing Society and Stirchley Printworks, and in 2024, I was part of Ikon Gallery’s Start the Press exhibition, where I demonstrated an antique etching press.

My passion is rooted in traditional printmaking techniques, hands-on learning, and making print accessible and engaging for a wide range of people.
